4th Annual Latin Show
The 1st of 6 FREE 2016 Saturday in the Park – McLaren outdoor music concerts in the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater kicks-off the 4th-year season on Saturday, August 20th with a 3-hour music festival of Latin Jazz.
The show features legendary percussionist Louie Romero y Mazacote offering dancer-friendly blends of Salsa, Cha-Cha, Timba, Cuban Guajira and Puerto Rican Bomba. Mazacote will play 2 sets with an hour of world music with guest artist Alfonso Lopez performing songs from around the globe. The music starts at 1:00PM for 3 hours of non-stop music & dancing.
Audience members are encouraged to bring picnic baskets and their favorite beverages and enjoy excellent acoustics and free parking in San Francisco’s 2nd largest and natural park, the 318-acre John McLaren Park. This year’s audience will see new signage, a repaved and free parking lot, and for dancing, a new smooth surface in front of the stage.
Acoustic Soul Fest Vol. 2
August 27 – Acoustic Soul Fest- Vol. 2 Rebel Soul Records presents, in conjunction with the Friends of the AMP Jerry Garcia Amphitheater and Saturday in the Park McLaren, the second annual Acoustic Soul Festival celebrating the brilliant Soul Culture of the Bay Area, featuring San Francisco native and McLaren Park neighborhood resident, Martin Luther McCoy and his great R&B review.. Youth dance performers, poets, lots of family fun and much more will be on display at this year’s Saturday in the Park McLaren.
4th Annual Kids' Festival
September 10 – The 4th Annual Kid’s’ Festival – Featuring The Not-Its, JAM with Charity Kahn, Magician Mike Della Penna and his magic show, Tree Frog Treks nature program and the Exploratorium's Science van, There will be 4 Hours (11am- 3pm) of art, music, magic, science, hikes and dance and much more. Fun for the whole family to enjoy.
